PC Buddies Defined - Our Competition - Why Choose PC Buddies - PC Buddies Process
PC Buddies is a small business. Our clients and technicians know each other by their first names. PC Buddies technicians are trained to handle all situations in a methodical, efficient and consistent manner. There's nothing worse than having two technicians from the same company give you two or three different answers to the same problem.
PC Buddies believes in establishing a relationship with our clients. We are dedicated to providing help for you, the end user. Establishing relationships means PC Buddies are more in tune to our clients needs. PC Buddies technicians have had many years of hands-on experience in the real world, not just from school rooms and text books. Living in the real world, we're opposed to the "Point and Click' philosophy that is perpetrated by today's Marketing Ideology. The Internet has become a valuable tool for information and research. Personal computers have drastically changed our personal and business lives. We at PC Buddies are here to help you get through the maze of information in the personal computer industry.
PC Buddies can provide you with the services you need. We are dedicated to providing help with personal computers to both the home and business end user. We offer PC maintenance, upgrading, troubleshooting, repair, tutoring and guidance.
We are not salesman. We are not on commission, or under any obligation to sell you software or hardware. Your bottom line is our bottom line. We exist to server you, not the other way around.
PC Buddies is in a very crowded industry, and for good reason. Consumer PCs are a very large portion of the market. Small business offering similar services pop up every night, and large nationally known chains are only too eager to elbow in on this territory. Best Buy (better known as 'The Geek Squad'), CompUSA, Circuit City, Staples all have segments of their corporations dedicated to serving this market. They have a foot-hold in the industry based solely on what they sell, but their intentions are often a bit misguided. Large organizations are often in it for the "big hit". They'll rope you in, toss a few buzz words at you and literally scare you into buying more than you need. And in their haste to get to your money, they often take short cuts. If any technician tells you reformatting and starting over is the best answer BEFORE they even try, that's a bad sign. Take your PC and run away as fast as you can.
Our experience with many of these organizations is that they're in it for the "big hits" and after that, they never want to hear from you again. We've heard horror stories and lengthy diatribes involving customers being grossly over-charged for second rate service. $500 for a simple hard drive restore? I think not.
The only attributes these companies have over PC Buddies is this;
They can respond faster because they employ more people than us. We're "small", but we like it that way.
They have an almost unlimited advertising campaign.
They can drive fancy, specially painted cars to look "cool". We drive VWs, but they're not dressed up.
None of those "attributes" are what you should look for when you're in a bind and need professional, efficient IT help. It might be nice to know someone can get to you at the snap of a finger, but not at the risk of being grossly over-charged, being sold software\hardware you don't need and risk having a different technician arrive at your door every time you call one of these big companies.
PC Buddies has dealt with these companies many times, sometimes directly, often indirectly and there are honestly some very sharp, very efficient technicians working for them, but these people are often puppets of bean-counting upper management whose only interest is making a financial killing at your expense. As far as they might be concerned, any money you have is simply their money that they feel you're holding for them temporarily.
Why choose us over more nationally known PC Repair facilities? That's a difficult question to answer without sounding like a used car salesman, but in a nutshell PC Buddies' most valued job is to get you and your machine up and running as neatly, professionally and as financially reasonable as possible. Unlike larger nationally known organization PC Buddies isn't controlled by bean counters or "marketing geniuses" who leverage their position in the market by scaring you into buying more than you need. We're real people, with real experience who value your respect and business.
PC Buddies specializes in making sure your data is safe. It takes extra time, but if we get your machine in an unstable state we immediately image your hard drive so at WORST we can give your machine back to you in its last known state (and save your valuable data). Your data is THE single most important part of your PC, period. All the RAM, hard drive space of fast processors won't make up for your loss of data.
PC Buddies saves your data, assesses the damage, and the cost to repair the problem and offers real-world solutions to our clients. There's no need to spend the price of a new PC on a 4-5 year old machine, especially if your data is already saved.
